Culture for children and young people

The Culture House (Kulturhuset) works to ensure that all children and young people in the municipality have access to culture. Through close collaboration with the education sector, we reach all students from preschool class through year 9 and special needs primary school. The Culture House also offers cinema, theatre, and school holiday activities during leisure time.

School holiday activities

During the school holidays, Kulturhuset offers extra movie screenings for all ages. In connection with children’s screenings, there are fun activities available in the foyer. Staff are present to assist, but children under the age of ten are expected to be accompanied by an adult.

Public performances and events

Finspång Municipality organizes around three public events for children and young people each school term. These may include theater and dance performances or themed workshops with a professional cultural performer.

Culture in Schools

In Finspång Municipality, Culture in Schools consists of two parts: the Children’s Culture Guarantee and the Creative School program — both aimed at children in grades F–9 as well as students in adapted compulsory school.

Youth Grant (Ungdomschecken)

If you are between 13 and 22 years old, you can apply for a grant of up to SEK 10,000 to carry out a cultural, democratic, or leisure-related event in Finspång Municipality. This grant is called the Ungdomschecken and is designed to encourage and support young people who want to organize events, activities, or projects primarily aimed at others in the 13–22 age group.
